Students will be taught the fundamentals to play a string instrument, how to read music, and basic music theory in a fun and interactive one hour a week class. Instruments that can be chosen are violin, viola, and cello. Minimum three students and maximum six per class will allow for individual attention along with the fun of playing in a group. Classes will be grouped by age as much as possible. Curriculum will depend on the ages of the students. A recital will occur at the end of the spring semester.
Students must rent or purchase their own instruments and supplies needed to play. If students do not already have an instrument, please wait until an email is received from Mrs. Blatchley in order to get the correct size, recommendations for rental or purchase, and a short list of supplies.
Lessons will be taught on Friday afternoon/evening and Saturday morning. When purchasing this class put down your preference for Friday or Saturday along with your child’s name and age. You will be contacted about specific class times.
Classes will start September 11th. A calendar of lesson dates and a contract with cancellation policies will be provided.
